If you own a company and need to create a logo for your business then you first need to define which logo design that fits you better. That’s why, in this article, Icons will tackle five different logo types.

Brandmark:

This kind of logos consists of a symbol or an icon that represents the business without using text. It’s considered as one of the hardest logos to be memorable unless you launched a big campaign that aims to make your customers aware of your logo.

Examples:

Apple, Mercedes, Lancer.

Wordmark:

It’s the company name written in an attractive font design and color and in some cases a special font is created for it.

Examples:

Facebook, Canon, FedEx.

Lettermark:

It differs from the wordmark logo in using the initials of the brand name only and it’s usually get used for the companies that have complicated names.

Examples:

IBM, HBO, CNN.

Combination Mark:

It’s the most used type of logos and it consists of the icon plus the brand name or the initials of its name combining together. It’s easy to separate them according to the design.

Examples:

Adobe, Adidas, Pizza Hut.

Emblem:

It differs from the combination mark in placing the brand name inside the icon itself and thus it’s impossible to separate them.

Examples:

Starbucks, Burger King, Volkswagen.
